Description
Popular and cost-effective solution
For those with specific skin measuring needs.
In addition to the well-known parameters for measuring TEWL, elasticity and hydration. The DermaLab Single unit line of probes also features the 10 MHz and 20 MHz high resolution ultrasound probes. The 20 MHz for measuring of skin thickness as well as skin structure and the 10 MHz for visualizing subcutaneous layers and structures with a maximum of 50 mm penetration.

Hydration
Principle: Conductance
Hydration: 0 – 9999 µS (1 µS resolution)
Spring loaded action triggers/stops measurement.
Options: Flat faced or pin electrodes
Calibration: Calibration checker available
Highlights:
Instant assessment of the water binding capacity in the stratum corneum
Pin-probe design facilitates dry skin and scalp applications and minimizes water accumulation under the electrodes
Subcutaneous Ultrasound Probe
10 MHz Frequency: 10 MHz, focused ultrasound.
Resolution: 120 x 920 micrometer (ax x lat).
Penetration: 50 mm.
Probe: Rotating transducer, scan length 50 mm, footprint 34 mm. Read-out: Display of actual and stored measurements.
High Frequency Ultrasound Probe
Principle: Rotating single element transducer

Measurements: B-mode Ultrasound skin imaging with measurements of skin density and thickness
Highlights:
Instant assessment of collagen level and dermal thickness, low echogenic band (LEB)
Manual and automatic measurement options
Easy to operate — no need for training
Elasticity
Principle: Measurement of air pressure-induced skin elevation and subsequent retraction time
Settings: Adjustable pressure (150, 400, and 650 mbar) and skin thickness (in mm).
Measurements: Young’s Modulus, Retraction Time, and Viscoelasticity,
Probe: 10 mm diameter suction aperture
Ultra-low weight (approx. 7 grams) for minimum skin bias
Adheres to the skin by double sided adhesive tape
Highlights:
Extraction of U-values from the elevation/retraction curve
Possible to measure an average of several elevation/retraction cycles
Measurements on soft, normal, and firm skin.
